
are high carbohydrate low protein diet good for competitive cyclists trying to lose weight?
I've been reading this book about how moderate protein and high fat diets are much better than low-fat carbohydrates of high complexity. It is said to control insulin levels much better and so do not store fat. On the other hand, if I can limit the carbohydrates to the amount of training I do every day I'm afraid that Bonk out. Im 6'1 and weighing 171 pounds, and I can lose body fat and get slimmer
That reading of the Abs Diet by David Zinczenko? That one appears to have good scientific support, and although I am not a nutritionist, which seems to be an effective and healthy way to lose fat (not just weight, which may include muscle). I say this is a good way for everyone to go. I think you could change your diet for your purposes, however, and add more carbohydrates, but complex carbohydrates. Good luck with your training!
